One thing I particularly love about the students I teach is that they come from many different cultures and backgrounds. However, the resources I currently have in my classroom library does not reflect this. I aim to have a classroom library that is representative of the many holidays we celebrate around the world. My students are noticeably more engaged in their reading and less disruptive of their peers when they have books that they can relate to and learn from. The products I have selected will help my students learn about holidays and traditions around the world while also allowing them to share traditions they celebrate with their families. To help with storage and to keep the books in good condition, I am asking for bins to store them in.
