I am requesting essential painting and art supplies for my classroom. We only have access to a basic set of crayons and I feel like my students would benefit from an assortment of supplies to express themselves in a variety of ways. My students come from hard backgrounds and art is their favorite part of the day. Art can be an outlet for students that need to release anxiety and worries about their home life. It allows them time to de-stress and create something they can be proud of. I am asking for a watercolor set for each child to personalize their take-home folders and to create illustrations to go along with their writing. Also, some basic tempura paint to make gifts for other family members and the accompanying brushes and art aprons to protect their clothes. Finally, a classroom set of markers to enhance their drawings in their science notebooks.
