For the past seven years my students have been reading an inspirational and uplifting story called Freak the Mighty together as a class novel. Unfortunately, time and wear has taken its toll on my books and now I need to find other means in which to replace our beloved novel. I had laminated all of my current books with plastic covers for extra protection but at this point the pages have began to fall out on their own. This story is enriching for my students because it deals with personal diversity, overcoming domestic abuse, respecting others with disabilities, and personal growth.
