My goal is to encourage and shape my students into productive members of society. I teach my students useful life skills that they can utilize throughout their life, in addition, I teach the state standards to my students. Even though my students have special needs and require more time to learn, they are still capable- given the correct manipulatives and tools. By supplying my students with the tools such as the plastic coins and calendar, you will be providing my students with important life skills, such as reading a calendar, organization, and counting money. By supplying my students with manipulatives such as the number line, reading comprehension set, and math set, you will ensure that the students get the necessary hands-on training they need to learn. Everybody is capable of learning, we just learn in different ways. How the supplies will be used: - Science tools supply center: The students will have hands-on tools and manipulatives to assist them in gathering facts, observing specimens and making hands-on discoveries. The students currently have no science materials and are expected to learn solely from the text. - Math Instant Learning Centers, number line and power pen: My students are on the lower side of math and need to catch up on their basic math skills. These materials will assist and allow my students to learn hands-on with little guidance. Manipulatives play a huge role in their learning...all of which this kit has. - Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning Centers and power pen: The students in my class are also on the lower spectrum of reading and spelling. As far as reading is concerned my noncategorical students range from the phonemic awareness level to the fluency level. None have yet to reach the comprehension level.
