Students in survival mode can't learn. Giving them 15 minutes in our wellness center can help them return to their "learning brain". ESUHSD is committed to understanding the mental health of our teenagers. Our wellness centers give them the time to decompress, the skills to self-regulate and the support to know that they are not alone. As the school social worker, I meet hundreds of students every year with a plethora of needs. This wellness center will help us meet the needs of even more of our students. Returning to school after the pandemic has proven more challenging than our mental health team could ever imagine. Having this safe space fr the students helps us build capacity to serve even more students.
