I will be teaching in a new grade level and school this year. I am striving to create a sense of community in our new classroom. In order to do this, it is important to have special areas for students to organize their belongings. In our classroom we currently use lockers and desks. This project will allow each child to have their own personal mailbox, too. This will be an important part of our classroom environment, allowing children their own personal space. We will use these mailboxes daily to keep completed work to share with families. It will also help children develop organizational skills.
