Last year, I worked with my kids on the fly and learned as I went. I had the need for so many little things to just make my office more comfortable and conducive to individual and group learning. Homey touches like fun furniture and carpets help create a warm feeling. Since I have two offices to furnish, I have a lot of needs to fulfill! Throughout the year, I made mental notes of things that my students could benefit from, and I have curated these items here. I am hoping to really up my counseling game and really grow into my role this year. Having these new materials, like fidget toys, games, and books, will help me to branch out and use new techniques with my students that will increase their level of comfort with me, and the level of social-emotional growth that they experience through working with me. The furniture and carpet will help me to make my office a more welcoming place where students are comfortable to share anything with me.
