With your donation, you are assisting these enthusiastic young investigators in their quest of learning about the world around them-- they would need access to laptops and books (in other words an astonishing Literacy Center). As a result of the literacy center, the students will read to learn about our world and how we are as one. Having access to laptops and books would help in math, reading and science projects they are currently studying. Using this literacy center will help the students to continue learning about parts of the world they cannot see but are able to read about in real time. The laptops will also assist in tutorials programs in areas of weaknesses and build strength for students excelling. Once you learn to read, you will forever be empowered. The students can use leveled text (fiction/nonfiction). The leveled text will assist all students with receiving access to reading materials they can read independently. As the students’ progress in the school year, they can reach for higher levels of reading and have the materials they need available. The students will also be able to take these books home as a takeout library and share with family members. In the process, my students will improve organization skills by using storage bins to house reading materials. Being organize and learning to keep materials in their proper place will help the students as they progress through future grade levels. Organization teaches students to not only organize themselves, but also their thoughts.
