To support the individual needs of the children in my classroom, I'm requesting help in purchasing flexible seating options to enhance the quality of our learning environment. These alternate seating choices will be dispersed through the classroom centers as children need them and during group time to retain focus for all children. More choices for ALL children. The Picnic Table and Portable Reclining Chair will provide students the choice to sit on the floor when working on their lessons. During group time, some children might need additional back support to feel safe/secure. These chairs will support those needs. The Wobble Stools will be used for table time (where children are working on lessons at the variety of center tables in our classroom). These chairs will help those children who need to move or fidget in their seat as they work. These wobble stools will provide that small sense of movement to keep them focused on their learning. Wobble Cushions will support those children who need to wobble/fidget from a floor seating position. During our group times, we are inclusive to the fact that children learn best when they are comfortable. We do not instruct them to sit "criss-cross applesauce" and not move. We want freedom of movement. These will help. The Moluk Bilibo allows a rocking motion from a seating position, something many of our students need to self-cope or remain focused. These chairs will work both for engagement during lessons and helping children calm down during their times of upset.
