My classroom is in an inner ring suburb of Cleveland, OH. Most of the students in my classroom come from low-income families. 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of the students depend on these meals to get them through the day. Some of my students have experienced traumatic events in their young lives. There are some who have been through things that most adults do not go through. Our school and my classroom serve as a loving, safe place for them. My class is a first grade gifted and honors class. The students in my class are curious and love to learn. They love hands on activities. We like working together and learning through games and using technology. It is amazing how much their faces light up when they discover something new and exciting.
