Students learn best when they have some control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It is no secret that children need to move. When they can't move they become distracted and often disruptive. The wobble stools, balance ball chairs, and the Stay-N-Play balance balls will allow my students to move and suit their needs. Traditional seating can make students more territorial or possessive over their space. Flexible seating encourages children to take turns. It provides a sense of community. When students are uncomfortable, they become unproductive. Flexible seating allows them to be more comfortable and focused. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Flexible seating allows them to pair up and work in small groups. Flexible seating stimulates students' sense of touch. This can help children focus and process information better.
