Students learn more when they are actively involved in their learning, and the document camera is a great tool for students see and be involved in whole-class models and to easily share works-in-progress or published products. A document camera would make our learning environment more interactive and student centered. Having access to a document camera will allow my students to better view models, like practicing fractions with math manipulatives with the whole class easily able to see and ask clarifying questions. A document camera will also make it easier for students to share their work, like showing off a concrete poem in the shape of a watermelon directly from their writers' notebook or sharing their work when explaining a difficult math problem to the class.
