My students will be using a variety of seating options to help keep them engaged in their learning. This will allow them to move from a standing position to sitting in a wobble chair or on a ball. Movement will allow the students to be more focused on the task at hand instead of being bored and confined to one desk. They will be provided with more choice! Providing students with more choice within the classroom allows them to take ownership of their space and their learning. When the students feel like they are apart of the classroom versus just in the classroom, it can make a world of a difference. Students just want to feel loved and supported. When they feel like our classroom has a sense of a community, their learning thrives. They will be able to use these resources while they are reading independently. They will have the opportunity to choose their seating options while they are creating stories. My students will be able to choose their seating option at the beginning of every lesson. It is my hope that my students will feel more comfortable and involved in our classroom and in return be more engaged in their learning.
