I am an art teacher of about 730 students in a urban school with a high population of refugees. I am asking for help in purchasing an iPad I could use in my classroom to help bring technology into the art room. As a specials teacher, I'd like to be as highly effective as possible by incorporating more technology into my lesson planning. Now a days, technology is an everyday necessity and I want to give my students the opportunity to learn about modern day art through the use of technology. By having an iPad in the classroom, I could incorporate blended learning strategies (an approach to learning through the use of technology) by having students share the iPad within centers based on the subject of the lesson being taught. We could also use the See Saw app to take photos of students' work and share with their parents at home (connecting with families). With the use of an iPad, I could also help meet the needs of my ENL students (English as a New Language) and children with special needs.
