Our school is starting a series reading challenge to inspire children to read more. We hope that by introducing children to a series of books by the same author, the child will develop a love of reading. I currently teach 6th grade. These books are for students in grade 2 through 6. Students will be free to move around the building to get books from teachers that they do not have. I am excited to meet the younger students in the school and help them get excited about reading. The Calendar Mysteries series by Ron Roy is a great introduction to mysteries and students will love trying to figure out the puzzles. The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper was one of my favorite series growing up. It is a great introduction to fantasy and the battle of good versus evil. I am ready to share my love of reading with our students.
