My music students love to use instruments to work on rhythm and aural training. Most of our instruments are homemade or are just rhythm instruments. They also don't really give the opportunity to sing and play along. Having ukuleles in our classroom would give my students the opportunity to better learn music theory, learn an instrument that will introduce note reading and rhythms, and be a fun way to learn to sing and play! Within the last few years, USA Today published an article regarding ukuleles and the difference they make in a music classroom. ""Within two or three chords, you can learn a million songs. Students become instantly hooked," said Samson Trinh, a saxophone player turned teacher who founded his Uke 'n' Roll program after looking for a fresh angle in the classroom." - USA Today - 2014
