I am about to start my second year of teaching and I am so excited! My first year was fun, challenging, inspiring and exhausting...and I can't wait to see what this year holds. I work at a Title 1 school in Denver and I absolutely love it. One highlight of the year last year was watching students fall in love with reading. Students read books like Wonder, Esperanza Rising, and Inside Out and Back Again. We discussed books, wrote about books, had book parties and recommended our favorite books to each other. Due to this positive experience, I am hoping to bring more great literature into the classroom! Developing lifelong readers is one of my main goals as a teacher.
