When my students take notes in biology, their work is primarily done in interactive notebooks which allow students to do a combination of notes and interactive activities that reinforce the notes immediately. Having a document camera will allow me to model for all students how to successfully take notes and the activities that accompany them. Students will also be able to display their work for other students to see and discuss. Many of our students are visual learners, and when I am able to model each activity for them, there will be less confusion with the expectations of the task. This will allow us to make better use of our class time and dig deeper into concepts.
