I am the ELA Reading teacher for the entire 5th grade and It couldn't be a better fit. I am extremely passionate about reading and the doors in can open for students. They can travel to far lands like Narnia and Oz and fly with Peter through Neverland. They can stand next to August on his first day of school and feel the stares of his peers. They can walk down the corridors of Hogwarts and feel the magic in the air. As George R.R. Martin said “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.” My students deserve to have a library that fits their needs. If sponsored, I will use the funds to help grow my library so that all students have access to books they are interested in, as well as books in their language. I want to help my students fall in love with reading and I want our classroom library to be a warm, welcoming and a magical place for them.
