These materials will help my students tremendously. First, the calculators will help them with the basic skills. The calculator will allow them to work on more complex problems and not worry about solving an arithmetic problem. The earphones will allow for the struggling readers to have the text read to them. It will also help those student who struggle with writing. It will allow them to speak into the speaker and have all of their wonderful thoughts transcribed onto the computer, without the frustration of spelling it. Finally, the IPAD and Apple TV will allow me to move freely around the room. Giving me the opportunity to show student work, to positively praise students one-on-one with tickets that we use for positive reinforcement, and to give them access to new information in a different manner. It will allow me to move closer to those students who might need more support emotionally and still be able to continue to teach.
