In this upcoming year, I will have the opportunity to realize my dream of being an educator by beginning my first year teaching! I will have the pleasure of teaching to 25-30 students in a fifth grade bilingual classroom in the vibrant community of East Los Angeles. I will have the opportunity to serve a dominant latino immigrant community. Serving a socioeconomic disadvantaged population, our school primarily serves to English Learners and first generation students. Moreover, I hope to provide the learning community which continues to nurture their growth as bilingual scholars. It is essential for me as an educator to provide the learning environment which reflects them and their experiences, specifically in literature. In having a bilingual and diverse selection of books, I hope that they continue to grow as bilingual scholars. I am elated to guide my students into a successful educational experience!
