Having technology will allow my students to have technology at their fingertips and will provide a 21st century education in a 21st Century classroom. The use of Chromebooks will be used in all subject areas in order for students to gain technology skills needed in life. A document camera will assist with modeling and exposing students to a more detailed learning experience. Access to both of these materials will give my students a richer and more fulfilling education that might have otherwise be unattainable. This project will make a difference because it will allow my students to have access to technology in their foundation and while enhancing the skills they will need to build upon throughout their entire academic career and beyond. Having Chromebooks will make small group work more realistic while giving my learners exposure to literature rich websites to help increase their reading skills. Interacting with math and science websites, becoming familiar with keyboarding, are other important components that will be met through having Chromebooks. As well, we are in dire need of a technology center so that students have the opportunity to choose technology to explore, research and become more familiar with technology. This project will also provide a more realistic approach to teaching & learning that will take place in my classroom as I prepare my students to become successful Global Citizens contributing to our society.
