My students love engaging with technology and visual media. Flocabulary is a subscription web site that offers videos on hundreds of educational concepts. Flocabulary also includes questions that review key concepts. The engaging videos include interactive songs and lyrics with a beat that students can follow and memorize. The songs are easy to remember and helpful when trying to apply a strategy or rule. Students love watching videos instead of following along with a textbook explanation. It's short, to the point, and available to be repeated. It's a awesome package. Donation to this project will allow me to improve classroom instruction because it will allow my students with another opportunity to integrate with their learning. By using these videos, I will be able to build background knowledge about addition facts, science concepts, and reading literature and informational text. My students love technology and will enjoy being able to learn through watching educational hip hop videos (instead of just reading from a textbook).
