Alternative seating in the classroom will give my students more of a relaxed and comfortable option during independent reading. Some of my students struggle with pressure of reading, with alternative seating my students will be able to step away from the daily seats and sit somewhere that is more relaxed for them during this independent time. Our district recently implemented a "Bring Your Own Device" program that is suppose to increase the use of technology in the classroom, although this is a wonderful program our school is in a economically disadvantage area in Houston, Texas. Due to this disadvantage many of them do not have or can't afford these additional resources to assist in their success. I plan to use the Ipad in my classroom to give an additional learning tool for my students to use during independent practice and for research purposes.
