Students develop a lifelong love of learning when they are given the opportunity to be curious about their ideas through writing. I believe that through frequent, informal writing, students learn to pronounce the world in their own design. They make keen insights into their learning and their ideas, and they develop the habit of writing that will guide them through their academic careers and life outside of the classroom. Through this year-long project of incorporating daily writing into my classroom, I want to demonstrate to my students the benefits of reflecting on their lives and their learning. We will use our composition books to reflect on the literature we read, the ideas we discuss, and the experiences we have as we move through the year.
