You never know what to expect when you enter classroom. One of the things that I love about theater is the interdisciplinary nature of the artform and the infinite number of opportunities it offers to expose students to the world and parts of themselves they might never realize existed. My classroom is not just about acquiring knowledge but about using that knowledge to do. Theater is about doing. And my scholar-artist do the most in the best way possible! For everything that I pour into my scholars, they multiply it tenfold. I challenge them to be thinkers, creators, ready to do more than regurgitate or copy what they see around them. In response, they produce work that amuses and challenges me. Our theater program is young but our scholars are passionate about performing. I can't wait to see what we can do this year.
