My project is to set up a classroom library that will be both engaging and comfortable for my students. I want my students to see that reading is a way to escape reality sometimes as well as a well full of knowledge. Moving from a fourth grade classroom to a first grade classroom makes it very difficult to transfer my old library to my new students. Many of the books that I have are not at a first grade reader's level, which doesn't give them the opportunity to be successful. "You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax, all you need is a book" -Doctor Seuss. The materials for this project will help my students be able to find that magic within their classroom library and have a safe and comfortable place to learn. If this project is funded and I receive the materials that are listed, I will be able to create a space that will foster the learning of these children. I will have books that will meet the needs of all of my children in many different genres. I will have bins to hold all of these books in to easily differentiate. I will also have comfortable areas for my students to sit and enjoy reading.
