Through the purchase of these pieces of literature, dialogue will be sparked within my students' literacy circles. With my students' demographics lacking in diversity, these books will provoke thought to issues that they wouldn't normally encounter. After being exposed to these various novels, my students will walk away from the school year having a greater sense of empathy and perspective for people (and animals) going through life experiences different than their own. The donations for this project will help bring the struggles that many other people go through into perspective for my students. These books will go on to spark writing pieces, student-driven projects, and knowledge on a variety of locations across the world.
