Trout in the Classroom is an environmental education program in which students our students in grades 1-3 will: *raise trout from eggs to fry; *monitor tank water quality; *engage in stream habitat study; *learn to appreciate water resources; *begin to foster a conservation ethic, and *grow to understand ecosystems. We will end the year by releasing our trout in a state-approved stream near the school or within a nearby watershed. Having trout in the classroom inspires students to think more broadly about everyday topics and skills. The program incorporates has interdisciplinary applications in Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Technology & Engineering.
