As a first year teacher, I am beyond excited to meet my 2017-2018 Kindergarten class this fall! Rogers Elementary is a ethically, culturally, and economically diverse neighborhood school in the West Ridge area of Roger's Park, Chicago. I grew up 15 minutes away! Rogers was built in 1937 and has kept the original beauty of hardwood floors and tall ceilings. My classroom has a wall of windows! Just perfect for natural sunlight to greet the students each morning. My classroom will be filled with children from all around the world, including recent immigrant families and refugees. Having just received my Master's in Early Childhood/Special Education with the addition of an ESL endorsement, I am ready to dive in and give these students 110% These certifications allow me to be the inclusion SpEd teacher for incoming students who may need some extra support. A class of 27 will sure provide for a energetic year!
