In each school day, my classroom sees 3 groups of sixth grade students. We have an 80 minute block, which is divided into reading workshop time and writing workshop time. In our reading workshop time, students participate in book clubs, independent reading, and guided reading groups. Despite being in a very rural setting with limited access to books, my students are hungry for new books.
