The idea of world exploration and the topics of plant life, pollination, and habitats can be closely dissected with the use of microscopes. It is not enough to talk about the functions of plants and their parts. Giving hands-on, up close views of the parts of plants and exposing the students to something they have never seen, will boost their interest in the subject. Using scientific tools for the first time will introduce the would of real science, by placing them in the shoes of scientist. Students learn best when they can place themselves in the books they read. Some students face troubles when trying to find books that they can relate to. This is why it is important to build a library that has representation across the board. Though, this is just a small portion, it is a great launching point for the classroom.
