Kindergartners love to wiggle! It's very hard for them to sit still and unfortunately, the current curriculum has them sitting longer than developmentally appropriate. It is my goal to create a classroom with flexible seating options to provide differentiated seating options. Current research indicates that providing flexible seating choices increases achievement in students. It allows students to work while sitting in a seat that works best for them. In a class with flexible seating, some students might prefer to stand and work while others might use clipboards on the carpet . These wobble stools will be one of our choices in our class. They are awesome because unlike a traditional chair, they allow students to wiggle without distracting others. Many of my students currently pick regular stools over chairs so I know that they will be a big hit in my classroom!
