The floor of our classroom is completely tile, and doesn't have an inviting space that welcomes students to read and engage in meaningful conversations about exciting stories. Having a bright, comfortable space with flagship carpets will encourage my students to work more diligently and think about their reading carefully rather than being uncomfortable on a cold tile floor or sitting at a desk. Students are more likely to read longer and focus better when they are comfortable and have a space that is designed especially for them. The space could also be used during center rotations during math, and as a colorful, inspiring space to write stories.
