Having a classroom rug will help build community in my class each day, as well as further learning. Several times each day, students come to the rug to learn. Whether it is for a short read aloud, a mini lesson over characters and settings in a story, or a lesson about the Revolutionary War, this rug will help gather the class together. This rug will help create a loving and welcoming environment for each of my students. Students will be able to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment where each child is respected. I am a first year teacher on a small budget, and I want my class to feel open and comfortable, and my students to feel loved and cared for, and I think this rug will help do just that.
