I am a new teacher with a bare classroom and high need students. The materials we are requesting for are items that are needed in order to create a library and reading corner as well as a rug for whole group learning and community building. These materials will help students immensely because a library is a necessity for every classroom, which we do not have right now. I am also requesting a rug because my students have had limited or no formal education. Having a communal space will aid in developing their classroom skills and will give them the much needed space to practice listening and speaking.
