This is my second year in this teaching position and within this classroom. It is unfortunate, but my room is lacking in many of the essentials that this population needs. Many of the items we need would make the most profound difference in these students' day-to-day experience. We have multiple sensory objects on our list that are for visuals, like the lights, and kinetic like the vibrating snakes and weighted blanket. Some of the other things on our lists are things that can attach to the wheelchairs to allow better access to materials. We have been continually fundraising to purchase and/or make items that are appropriate for my students. It is, however, a much larger job than we can handle alone. We need your help and support! Help give these students the items that will make their lives more full and happy. Help us give them a better school day, full of wonder and sensory integration.
