A classroom rug in the shape of an ellipse serves many purposes in the Montessori environment. It provides a defined, physical space for group settings with boundaries outlined for movement, balance and "walking the line" lessons designed to refine movement and coordination. An easel, low the floor, will contribute to child - centered education by keeping materials at the eye level of all children. The easel has multiple uses including reading, writing, mathematics, and shared writing experiences. This easel is also desinged beautifully to accomodate BIG BOOKS which are inherent to any early childhood classroom. Keep calm and read on.
