Having mats for the Wolfette’s cheerleading squad will ensure safe practice conditions for stunting and tumbling, while working towards becoming successful athletes. The safety of the cheerleaders is our number one priority. With the increase in catastrophic injuries in the sport of cheerleading, the focus has recently turned to the cause of these injuries and how to prevent them. According to the 25th Annual Catastrophic Injury Report released in 2009, more than half of the total catastrophic injuries sustained in girls and women’s sports were in the sport of cheerleading. Cheerleading mats are essential for helping our athletes build strength, stretch, and learn tumbling skills and stunts. Cheerleading mats help prevent injury, build confidence of our cheerleaders, and are adaptable to the needs of each athlete.
