I am excited for a new year with my third grade students. I am looking to enhance my literacy instruction by adding the Storyworks magazine. I have had experience with this publication during our virtual learning and would like to include it in my instruction in person. Students responded so positively to the high quality literature - plays, poems, narrative stories, and informational texts. Each text can be offered at different levels so that all learners can access the stories and the connected activities. The vocabulary, comprehension activies, writing tasks, and grammar are high-interest and reflect appropriate academic rigor. Most importantly students are truly motivated to read the literature and engage in authentic activities that deepen their thinking and foster behaviors to become lifelong readers!
