English Language Learners (ELLs) can have a wide variety of needs in their reading and writing instruction. Some students may read and write fluently in their native language while others will enter the classroom with little or no prior literacy instruction. Fire Tablets will allow me to incorporate technology into my students' reading and writing instruction. My students will able to read and listen to online resources that are about Being Tolerant, they will greatly help out my ELL students by offering them visual representations to build their vocabulary. My classroom would be transformed through the use of these Fire Tablets. My students will use these tablets to build their language skills, translate information, practice speaking and listening, and begin to transition from basic interpersonal language to more academic language which will help them succeed in the classroom. Through the books I have listed I will be able to teach my students about people from around the world. I believe the more they learn about diversity the more they will appreciate people and their differences. The Portuguese books will help me reach the needs of the students who are non speakers, it will help boost their confidence by giving them a book which they can read and be successful with. The dictionaries will serve as tools to help students increase their vocabulary. Your donation to this project will help build community and promote tolerance in our ESL classroom!
