Kindle Fires will attract many student’s attention toward learning, through technology. Kindergarten students are always more driven toward game like learning. Challenging students tend to gravitate toward technology rather than direct instruction. Technology can certainly not take the place of instruction, although, it can reinforce the skills that are being taught in the classroom. I will use applications such as Epic, a program with a vast library of books, for listening and reading on various levels. Math Moose will support counting, sorting, and addition skills. The educational applications are endless! The tablets will certainly not serve to teach my students, but rather they will reinforce skills the students need to practice.
