We will have a classroom that is organized, neat, and ready for everyday learning. All materials will, not only make our classroom look beautiful, but will also make the transition from whole group learning to center activities much easier and smoother. Students will feel at home and at ease in a child-friendly classroom, especially since this is the first year of school for many of our students. Students will be able to have hands on experiences with the materials I am asking for. These materials will be used to implement writing, mathematics, reading, and art. The key to having so many children in one room is to have classroom management and classroom organization. These materials will help greatly with both! Magnetic White Boards are used for practicing penmanship- staying on the line, writing from top to bottom, capital and lower case letters. We also use them with magnetic letters to make words and then write words. In addition, they are used as lap boards when we do whole group math and dictation. Book bags are needed to send reading books home with students every week. I have tried using zip-lock bags, but they don't seem to be as sturdy as book bags. Students take these home at the beginning of the week and return at the end of the week to receive new books. This helps promote literacy at home, especially for students who don't have books at home. Writing Practice Magic Boards are used for practicing penmanship with directionality. Magic Boards can be used with Printing Practice Cards that help students practice letters and words. Magnetic Folder bins help keep papers that are to be sent home organized and separated by classroom since there are two teachers in one classroom.
