I am the School Counselor of 700 students in grades Kindergarten- Fifth at a Title I school located in Fresno, Texas. My campus is made up of primarily African American and Hispanic students. We are a bilingual campus where over 70% of student receive free and/or reduce lunch. Many of our students were affected by Hurricane Harvey. As we come up on the one year anniversary, I am seeking assistance in meeting our students socio-emotional needs. My students face a variety of challenges both in the school and home setting. I strive to provide all of my students with socio-emotional education and support in order for them to be able to perform to their highest academic potential. This service is provided by teaching social skills, career and college readiness, coping skills and study skills to name a few. My students will be successful because I teach that it is possible, and they strive to make their goals a reality.
