Each of my students require a range of school tools and accommodations to help them learn and grow. In choosing these products, I hope to help my students increase their ability to remain focused and engaged during lessons and work tasks. Flexible seating options (wobble chairs, stools, and ottomans) will help create a comfortable physical environment for my students of all heights and sizes, allow for sensory input, and help them process information. Flexible seating will encourage my students to stay calm, focused, alert, and productive. Sensory tools can help students access curriculum and help with social emotional regulation. One of the ways I keep my students engaged and alert is by providing movement and brain breaks throughout the day. Having access to sensory tools for breaks and during lessons is very beneficial. Throughout the school day, my students use sensory tools (e.g. theraputty and fidgets) for large group time (circle time/morning meeting), small group time, during transitions, and in their general education classrooms.
