Students today are immersed in technology from the time they are born. As an educator, I want to harness that familiarity and engagement to use in the classroom. Providing an environment of one to one computing in the classroom increases student performance, engagement, and helps them learn how to use technology properly. As students use technology like the Samsung Chromebooks I have requested, as a source for learning, they become self directed learners but they need to learn to use it in productive ways. Most students know how to access games or use cell phones but few know how to harness technology to help them learn and prepare for real world application for future careers. The earlier students can start learning these educational applications, the easier their technological futures will be.
