The more contact students have with books, the better readers they will become. It is my goal to expose children to a variety of genres where they see various cultures represented. More importantly, it is very beneficial to provide students with an array of books to choose from. Giving them the privilege to choose from many books will help captivate their interest in reading. Students need to have the ability to open up a book and get lost in the words. It is beneficial that students have the access to books they like and can read at home or school. A student should never go home without a book or the ability to read at home for a minimum of 20 minutes. I want to provide my students with books they can access at anytime so that they are never worried about not having books to read at home.
