The tablets that I am requesting for my students will have a "home" in our already established classroom library. These devices will be used during small group literacy stations to enhance and reinforce basic foundation skills when learning to read and write! In order to keep these tablets in the very best condition, they will each have a case to protect the screens and tablet itself.
The donations for this project will help students build on their language, literacy, and math skills by keeping them engaged and excited about their learning.
For example, higher level students will be able to choose from a variety of online stories that will challenge them. Lower level students will be able to practice concepts such as letter sounds while listening to the sounds being taught! ESL students will also benefit from these tablets by engaging in applications that help improve their social and academic language. These tablets will also be used during math stations in which students will rotate through to practice basic math skills such as patterns, number recognition, addition, and subtraction. Through the use of these tablets, students will begin to experience student-centered learning that is challenging and differentiated towards specific student needs.
