I want to offer my students books that they are interested in, and provide them with lots of choices. I recently asked them which books they would like to have in our classroom library. Graphic novels such as "Dogman" and "Amulet," and series sets like "My Weird School" seemed to be the most in demand. Other topics of interest include dinosaurs, unicorns, and scary stories. Many of my students also want to read more engaging books in Spanish, and I hope I can fulfill that need for them. Our classroom library is lacking in good quality Spanish books. I believe it is important to provide more books in Spanish to encourage them to continue to develop their native language. By adding these books to our classroom, I know that reading will be a joyful and engaging experience for my students. They will appreciate having books that they want to read, and they'll be on their way to becoming confident and independent readers.
