The mission at Hancock is to provide a quality education through innovative programs focusing on college preparation, community service and leadership. Hancock's environment enables teachers to focus on developing individuals of integrity, knowledge and character. We foster leadership skills and community involvement, and support programs designed to help students discover and develop their academic leadership abilities. Students in my classroom specifically participate in activities where they explore multiple perspectives through the reading of rigorous texts and authentic writing. My goal is to expose students to the vast world around them through literature and service learning, to provide students an education that allows them to challenge ideas and develop their own opinions, and to build my students' confidence so that they can willingly express their beliefs and take steps to affect change.
